About 2 years ago we shot the wedding of Dirk & Ulrike and it was one very close to our hearts. It was here that we first met Hannes and Marike – two deep and relaxed souls. Now, 2 years later, it was their turn to celebrate becoming husband and wife! We took a long trip away from home, all the way to Mpumalanga – this time to a very small (barely) town called, Val. Arriving here we were greeted with street music – litterly music playing over a street pole speaker. It felt like we were in a different era!
It was such a relaxed wedding with everyone taking it slow, away from the city as these two celebrated their love for each other. They got hitched in the cute little chapel called The Church of St. Francis of Assisi and afterwards they took part in the Val tradition of throwing their shoes onto a telephone line crossing the main road. It’s way more tricky than it looks!
The guests relaxed in the hotel’s lovely garden while we took a walk through the town with Hannes and Marike. The railway is basically what the town consists of, and we had some lovely light to shoot in. Hannes and Marike were magic during this session – after being together for almost 9 years, being together comes like breathing. It’s so comfortable around them, we had the best time.
The evening was one filled with beautiful speeches, out of this world food and some pretty crazy dancing!
Hannes & Marike – julle spesiale dag was regtig amazing en dankie vir al julle moeite met ons – ons kan nie genoeg dankie sê nie! Bly altyd so cool! Ons bid dat julle liefde vir mekaar net elke dag sal groei – julle is ’n pragtige voorbeeld!
Lots of love,
Skillie & Tehillah
